Virginia's elevated standard deduction ($8,750 single / $17,500 married) is temporary and scheduled to revert to pre-2019 levels ($3,000 / $6,000) starting with Taxable Year 2027 unless the General Assembly extends it. Payroll systems configured for the current deduction will need updating for 2027 withholding tables.
